Compensation

We're an open organisation so we want to be transparent about compensation. Salaries are set at a competitive rate for your job, your location, and your experience level.

We offer regular performance reviews with salary incentives and company bonuses.

We also offer a great deal of  flexibility and freedom , characteristics that we know are important to most people.

Writers

Writers are on freelance contracts with Contentellect. We pay writers a price per word rate. The rate is dependent on the quality of the writer, experience level and client requirements.

Account Managers

Account Managers are paid a fixed monthly salary. Every 6 months team members will have a performance review, and if their work is satisfactory we offer a salary increase using the following scale.
There are three potential outcomes from a performance review.
You're doing a great job: We will provide constructive feedback and offer you a salary increase, as above.
You're doing a good job, but there is room for improvement: We'll highlight where you're falling short and provide helpful guidance on how you can up your game. You won't be offered a salary increase, but should you make the required improvements by your next review, your salary will increase to correspond with the time you've spent at Contentellect.
You're way off the mark: In the unlikely event that your performance is falling way short of our expectations, we would have already let you know that things aren't going in the right direction and assuming you are still unable to lift your performance by the review date, we will, unfortunately, have to part ways.

Bonuses

We believe in sharing our success with the people that are responsible for it.

At Contentellect we provide a company-wide bonus. Everyone receives the same bonus based on the company's performance. This means we need to work as a team to ensure existing clients don't cancel or stop using us, and new clients are wowed when they work with us.

When sub-par work is delivered, you hurt, the company hurts and so do fellow team members. We therefore all need to pull in the same direction to hit our goals, and one should feel bad if they're not pulling their weight.

We want everyone to feel like they are part of a team and be excited when the company does well. Every new order that comes through the door is one that gets us all closer to a bonus at the end of a month.

FAQ

What about taxes and other benefits?
All full-time team members at Contentellect are Independent Contractors. This allows team members to invoice Contentellect as individuals or via their own company. Team members are responsible for filing their own accurate tax statements and complying with all local laws.

When will I be paid?
Team members should send an invoice on the last working day of every month. Invoices will be cleared and paid within 48 hours of receipt. We pay using Wise.

What if I leave in the middle of a month?
If you leave the company in the middle of a work month, we will pro-rata your salary and make payment within 48 hours of receiving your final invoice.

Can you pay me with X?
We prefer paying with Wise, but we can also pay with Payoneer and PayPal.

How about paid time off and holidays?

When will bonuses be paid?
We will inform you of the bonus tier we as a company achieved in the month after the last quarter (Q1: Jan-Mar, Q2: Apr-Jun, Q3: Jul-Sep, Q4: Oct-Dec). Please add your bonus to your invoice in the month after the last quarter.

How can I increase my compensation?
There are a few ways you can increase your compensation:

Demonstrate that you always go over and above to deliver amazing work. This would be proven by receiving amazing client feedback, consistently.
Demonstrate that you are indispensable, and truly embody  our values  in everything you do.
Generate more business for us by growing existing client accounts and bringing in new clients.
